MEET DR. LILIAN EBUOMA

Physician, women's health advocate with more than 25 years of experience in health care, U.S Navy veteran, social entrepreneur,  transformational coach, motivational speaker, professor, book author, life-long learner, leader, film producer, wife, mother, proud Nigerian and in love with Africa.

Dr. Lilian Ebuoma is recognized as a Nigerian Woman of Distinction in 2022 by Tell Magazine. This award honors women who have distinguished themselves as role models and folk-heroines by providing outstanding leadership to women in their institutions, in their profession and in society at large.

As the President of Lilly Cares Foundation, a non-governmental organization that engages in activities that empower, develop and enrich women in society, Dr. Lilian Ebuoma is instrumental in saving thousands of women's lives in Nigeria through free mammograms, free health education, film production, and many community outreach programs that support women in their health journey as well as in their career and personal development.

Dr. Lillian Ebuoma also leads a team of experts in Lilly Women's Health Breast Care Centre with a vision to challenge the status quo of access to quality healthcare in Africa, particularly for women.

She has been educated in prestigious universities (including Harvard Medical School) in the United States with Magna Cum Laude citations in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is a Doctor of Medicine, with Diagnostic Radiology Specialization and Sub-specialization in Breast Imaging and Intervention.

She has multiple scientific publications focusing on breast health, quality, and coaching. 

​

Her contribution to the medical world and society has been recognized with numerous awards including the following:

 

• Inductee - Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society 

• Navy Achievement and Marine Corps Medal (NAM)

• Faculty Gold Medal Award from the University of Maryland School of Medicine

• Early Faculty Excellence Award from the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Ebuoma's experiences span various sectors — academic medicine as an Associate Professor, US military, and non-profit sector. 

 

Dr. Lilian Ebuoma is also a Certified Professional Coach (CPCC), trained at the world renowned Harvard Affiliated Co-Active Training Institute. She is also an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and an associate member of Women in Business Management and Public Service (WIMBOZ).  She is currently a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching at McLean, Harvard Medical School Affiliate.
